RV Camping Checklist
Much like with any other outdoor venture, when you decide to go RV camping, the best way to avoid discovering that you have forgotten to bring important items along is to prepare an RV camping checklist in advance. This is especially important for RV camping as people tend to rely on the inherent safety of the RV and the fact that many vehicles come already equipped with many useful items and tools.
On your list, you should first put down the RV camping checklist essentials, which are useful on any trip, regardless of the manner of travel: sheltering and safety items, general camping items, clothing, personal hygiene and health related items, food storage and food preparation items, eating and kitchen items, and so on. The most important difference is that you can take along a wider array of useful items than with backpacking or car camping, and that you do not need to bring along tents or camping stoves, if your RV is also equipped with a small kitchen area. The day before departure, it is advised that you give your itinerary to your family and friends and that you check the weather reports for your destination. Bringing a cellular phone with extra battery or charger is also very useful, as well as a weather radio, maps and functional GPS.
Other useful items are binoculars, backpacks, folding knife, products for killing bugs around RV and campsite, electric fan, electric extension cord, firewood cutting tools, groceries, beverages and containers, dishes and utensils, grill, fuel and charcoal, waterproof matches, dishwashing items, trash bags and so on.
When you are planning an RV camping checklist, you might also want to consider going fishing, engaging in water activities or bringing your pets along. This means that your RV camping checklist should also contain watercraft, sunscreen, life jackets, swimming clothes, air pump for inflating water toys or rafts and snorkel gear. For fishing, you should write down fishing gear and license, fish bucket, fish cleaning and preparing instruments, while for pets, you should not forget to bring food, water and bowls, treats and toys, leash and harness, plastic bags for cleaning up after them and blankets or clothing for cold weather.
